We had a great turnout last night for our Kinni Hookers Club! All new gals too!
There was Gail who is new to Hudson that we met at a monthly TU meeting last winter.
Margaret who is active in TCTU and brought the club a beautiful bouquet of flowers! Lisa who took our fly fish 101 class a couple of weeks ago. Terrie who lives in Kansas but travels to the Twin Cities a couple of times a month. And of course Janine and myself. Our group is growing…another gal joined today that took our ladies fly fish 101 course a few years ago!

Club note: We will be meeting here at the fly shop on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd at 6:30 a.m. to head out fly fishing. Let us know if you can come along. Bring your coffee mugs.

Kayak the Kinni

Kayaking the Kinni

Kayaking the Kinni

The kayaks on the Kinni have been having a great time with all of the rain in the past week. Fly fishermen especially like the advantage of using kayaks to access points of the Kinni that they would normally have to spend most of the day hiking into and out of, or getting permission from private landowners to cross their lands. Fly fishermen may rent kayaks earlier in the day than recreational kayakers to get a jump on the morning hatches. What a great way to have 100% access to the water and not have to hike or trespass! Call 1-877-504-9705 to make your reservations.

Kinni Hookers ~ Alive & Well!

Posted: under Fly Fishing, Kayak the Kinni ~ Floating the Kinni ~ Paddle the Kinni ~ Kayaking the Kinni~Kinni Dipping ©.

The Kinni Hookers are alive and well! Our ladies club is in it’s second season! Originally founded by me~Paige and fellow fly fishing pal Janine of the Pheasant’s Forever Lady Slippers chapter. Founding day was an interesting show of creativity with naming the ladies club! Our guide for the day was Andy Roth.
We welcome ladies of all ages into our sorority club for Ladies Night each Thursday night for the rest of the 2009 fly fishing season.
Here is a note of invitation to all ladies of the fly fishing persuasion….

Hello Ladies,
We had so much fun last week gettting to know each other that I wanted to send you a note to let you know that I will be hostessing another Kinni Hookers gathering this week. Come on over this Thursday evening, August 13th, around 6:30-9:30 or so.
The purpose of this gathering is purely social, so BYOB for Hatching Hour. We can fire up the coffee pot too.

There was excitement last week about beginning to do some hands on fishing and gear discussion. We’ll definately do that this week.

Club notes:
Twink has put dates out for gals to join her fishing on Aug. 31st, Sept. 2 or 4.
Stay tuned for more from Terrie as she scouts for mates to travel with to far away streams!
Chris is volunteering at Reeling and Healing next weekend! (August 21, 22, & 23, 2009) Yea Chris!
Sheila is fresh out of guide school. Whew! lots of work there.
Janine has brought two new little ladies into the world of fly fishing! We look forward to getting a line wet with them as soon as they are done wetting their pants!
Me, well I’m just trying to get set up with a real version of Constant Contact and a new blog for fly fishing!

Email me at: guide@kinnicreek.com and let me know if you can make it tomorrow!
